Barbados Association of Guidance Counsellors

The Barbados Association of Guidance Counsellors (BAGC) is a non-profit organization which was established in 1967. Our membership comprises of certified and trained Mental Health Professionals who are Guidance Counsellors in public and private secondary schools, as well as tertiary institutions. Our vision is to deliver quality leadership in facilitating Health and Family Life Education, Social & Emotional Learning, and Guidance and Counselling to our students. Simultaneously, we provide individual and specialized support to members. The Motto of our Association “Together Let’s Make a Difference” drives our team of Counsellors who are committed to upholding the high ethical and professional standards established.
Annually, we plan, coordinate and implementation the National Career Showcase and the Summer Work Experience Programme. These signature programmes benefit thousands of students and involve numerous professionals from local, regional, and international agencies.

Description

Activities Required
1. 16 Volunteers for each of the sixteen career cluster booths
2. 4 Technical assistants to support the technical coordinator, and with troubleshooting during the days of the showcase
(should be familiar with Microsoft Teams)
3. 8 Volunteers to make follow-up calls to professionals prior to the days and on the days of the NCS (30th and 31st March)
4. 4 Goffers(to hop from room to room and ensure that the sessions are progressing as planned)
