The Barbados Red Cross Society is a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, recognised as the world’s largest humanitarian network. The Movement endeavours to prevent and alleviate human suffering, particularly during times of disasters and conflicts, and irrespective of nationality, race, gender, religious beliefs, class or political opinions – in accordance with the seven Fundamental Principles of Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality.

Activities Required
Community outreach - including research and public awareness drives, event planning and donor management; Support for COVID-19 project, Meals on Wheels programme and work related to any ongoing project; Youth Development, e.g. Coordination for Enrollment CeremonyYouth Links programme in primary and secondary schools – a programme in which Red Cross provides training in areas such as First Aid, Disaster Awareness, Community Service, Food Security and Sexual Health Disaster Management/Preparedness - training, preparedness planning, community outreach, simulation exercises related to the role of BRCS in mass casualty events; Warehouse management, e.g. taking inventory of available contingency and relief supplies, database management, organisation of space, quality control; Finance and Administrative Support, e.g. budgeting and accounting assistance, proposal writing,
filing, document preparation; Social Media Marketing - including designing outreach strategies/campaigns, creating and distributing content, data analytics.
