TVET Council

Description

The TVET Council is a statutory organisation set up to make Barbados more competitive through the development of its workforce.  It is mandated to plan, coordinate and establish standards and qualifications for the discipline of TVET.

Other activities will include assistance with the following Sustainable Development (SD) in TVET subprojects:
SD in TVET Institutional survey
Sourcing  relevant documents and compiling sustainable development in TVET toolkit for local training institutions
SD in TVET competition for schools and training institutions
2.     COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT -   MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS AND PRODUCTION SKILLS (RADIO, VIDEO)
Assist in the development of content for TVETC’s digital media channels (video/print)
Assist with the publication of the Annual Reports (editing copy)
Assist with the content update and publication of TVETC’s brochures
Assist in the development of a series of radio programmes in collaboration radio station / Media Resource Department
    ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT  - HUMAN RESOURCE
Assist with the processing of mail and circulation of files
Assist with the entering of leave information in the HRM software and the generation of leave and other reports
Assist with the Recognition and Award programme to include execution of the Annual Award ceremony or any staff activities
Assist with the Health and Wellness programme (execution of all staff activities)
Assist with the organization of training sessions (liaising with internal and external trainers and staff)
Assist with the review and update of Job Descriptions
    TECHNICAL SERVICES UNIT - HUMAN RESOURCE
Enter and verify data in the Student Information Management System (SIMS).
Affix legend and other information on national occupational standards being prepared for submission for approval as regional occupational standards.
Sort and collate documents on file (N/CVQ personnel).
Create and update Excel file to present required information on N/CVQ personnel.
    IT SPECIALIST/ SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY/COMPUTER STUDIES
Provide Information Technology (ICT) network support for TVET Council.
Provide Information Technology (ICT) application support for TVET Council staff.
Produce and compile manuals for ICT application support.
Create reports, work plan and submit to ICT department.
Provide Information Technology (ICT) application support for TVET Council staff.
Design and support SharePoint applications.
Support Management Information Systems (MIS) databases.
Create reports, work plan and submit to ICT department.
Design and support SharePoint applications.
Design, program and support MIS databases.
Design and create graphics and web technologies applications and publications.

ICT Support

Also known as ICT Help Desk Officer, ICT Help Desk Technician, Systems Support Officer. Provides support, education and guidance in the deployment and maintenance of computer infrastructure and the diagnosis and resolution of technical problems and issues. Provide technical support during the terms of this contract.
Provide Information Technology (ICT) network support for TVET Council.

Application Specialist

The application support specialist provides computer support for staff and acts as a liaison to computer support services. Assigns and maintains user access to network and software. Writes reports collecting information from department database resources for the various computer systems.

Graphics/Programming/Web design

A web content writer is responsible for creating original content for websites, newsletters, press releases, blogs, articles and advertising and marketing materials based on the requirements of a client/organization. Content developers often use their skills, knowledge and experience in software and programming as well as web-based technology, to create and update content for websites.
Design and support SharePoint applications.

    ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT  - ACCOUNTING
    WORLDSKILLS BARBADOS/INTERNATIONAL PROJECT  - PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Assist with coordination and monitoring of activities according to the WorldSkills Barbados Programme project plan.
Attend meetings with stakeholders, partners and clients.
Report on meetings with stakeholders, partners and clients
Maintain communication with TVET Council and stakeholders, partners and clients.
Record transactions related to the WorldSkills Programme in the appropriate database.
Record and update the WorldSkills Programme Issue and Change Logs
Manage the WorldSkills Barbados inventory and all other resources under the care of WorldSkills Barbados.
Provide relevant administrative assistance when needed.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by WorldSkills Barbados Programme Lead Officer
